When we Die

A long time ago, the kids were talking about what they get when Mike and I die. There was a lot of discussion. I am not sure, but I think we were sitting at the dinner table all together. It seemed imperative that Gracie got the money. I kept trying to explain that we didn't have any money. She seemed to think that in the future we would. So, to stop the fighting. I told Gracie she could have the money. Then the others wanted to know what they would get. Jake was calling things like the beds and furniture. I told him he could have everything in the house and Gretchen could have the house. They all seemed satisfied.

Just last Sunday on our way out of the car and into the church Gretchen told Jake that he needed to get his stuff out of the house so she could move her stuff in. I was a bit confused. Then she said that he would need to get an apartment or something to put his stuff in so she could move into her house.

I had to laugh. She was basically telling Jake that he had a limited time (after Mike and I were dead) to get his crap out of her house.

I hope she is just planning ahead.
