Jake's Birthday

This year my boy turned 9. 9. He is getting so big and it makes me sad. He is still very kind and loves to draw me pictures.

Grandma & Grandpa Ballard took him shopping a couple of days before his birthday so we could go to Idaho. He had some things in mind and was very pleased with the results.

They went to Sonora Grill so Jake could have their Chocolate Mousse cake for dessert. He got a Nerf football, A 4-wheeling Lego set, a Star Wars Lego set and some note books. When he got back to the house he went straight to work. He loves Legos. The kids really enjoy the one-on-one time with Grandma and Grandpa. This is a fun tradition and the kids look forward to it.

Grandma and Grandpa Hall sent Jake this email on his birthday:

Dear Nine year old Jake,  Do you know how much you are loved?  Not only your parents and sisters but also both your Grandma and Grandpa Hall and Ballard, all your cousins and most important Heavenly Father.   I know he is watching over you and has a special mission for you just like you knew when you had your accident.  I am so surprised how much the young missionaries here grow in their testimonies and they get confident to share the gospel. I hope you are planning right now to serve Heavenly Father on a mission in 10 more year.  Wow you are amazing.  I would like to write you today and tell you TEN THINGS  That Grandma and Grandpa love about you.  Just a little tribute to you as you turn 9.

Oh I remember this one day we were on a ride in Plain City and you said " Hey Grandpa see those cow over their?  They are mine and they run really fast".  Grandpa said "Jake cows don't run fast.  You replied "Well mine do"   We both laughed and laughed.

We love the picture of you trying to shoe the horse with Gramps
We love how tender you are with your little cousins (hope you'll be more tender with Gretch ;-)
