Every year, Grandma Gloria buys each family a Christmas book. After December's Ballard Family Sunday Dinner, we read our newest book, and Grandpa adds in a few words and gets in a little trouble:) The book is a special part for me, because I love Christmas books. This year like most the story had a sweet message and the spirit was definatly there. We are so fortunate to have the things we do and the families we are blessed with.
This year we added "slides" to the tradition. Grandpa Richard has several cases of slides from the past. It is a lot of work to get it all out & set up, so watching slides is a real treat. It was so fun looking at pictures of the Ballard's from years ago. It is fun to hear all of the memories and talk about them together. I think a few of the kids were a little young (Jake kept wanting to make shadows on the screen) but Gracie really enjoyed being snuggled up to grandma and seeing her aunts, uncles & grandparents when they were younger.
