Tonsillectomy X 2

Here is what they looked like before: Gracie's mouth is blue because of Halloween candy & Jake is screaming because I pinned him down and put those panties on his head:)

This little missy felt a little left out & wanted
to take a picture of "not my tonsils"
Here they are in their cute jammies.
We always get new jammies for the hospital

Gracie & Jake both had their tonsils removed on Monday. Jake also had his adenoids taken out. Their appointment was not until 12:45 and at 2 we were still in the waiting room with the kids & their tonsils. The surgery went well. Dr Sheuller said that he thinks it more than doubled the room in Jake's throat. Both did well during the surgery. Gracie cried a little bit when she came out, but she perked right up after a little/lot of oxygen & 3 or 4 popsicles. Jake didn't do as well. He kept throwing up & his oxygen level was pretty low. He couldn't wake up, but he said a couple of funny things while he was out. He asked for lunch & then begged me not to make him eat anything. We were there until after 8 pm because he couldn't keep anything down. The Dr gave us a prescription for nausea and that put him out. he is doing better and hasn't thrown-up again.
After:
Mike and the nurses thought it was pretty funny that Gracie sucked right up to the oxygen mask. The nurse laid it by her face for a "blow by" and Gracie pulled it right up. Mike also took this picture of our unconscious boy with drool hanging of his face. I guess I am just as bad, because I posted it.

They both have their ups & downs (several times a day). Yesterday was pretty emotional. Gretchen is really doing worse than the two that actually had surgery. I am thinking about taking he in to have her tongue removed. She has cried more than either one of them. Last night I couldn't take it anymore and had to leave for a couple of hours. Our house is a disaster & the kids keep asking when their "company" is coming, I am glad that we haven't had anyone but granny's.
I should clean instead of blog :) I will, I will.

4. I think I could use some oxygen right now.
5. Jake's "company" came this afternoon. . . and he didn't even seem very impressed?

I love your hand holding jake down, I didn't see the panties until I read the notes, that is funny and sad for him.

I really like the Ballard sign!
