60th Wedding Anniversary

This is a lot of pictures, but it was a lot of fun. I want to remember every thing I can so I am just going to post it all.
My Grandma & Grandpa Hall had their 60th wedding anniversary this summer. My cousin Blake & his wife Jessica organized a family camp out. We went for 4 days. We stayed at the Saunder's family property in Paris Idaho. There were around 75-80 people there. Jeff and Donna ever brought their family from California. I was so glad that everyone came it made it just like the family reunions I remember when I was little. We had a food outline and we all cooked our meals together. There was so much food 1/2 of us took most of ours home. The treats were so yummy I even dreamed about the cookies Aunt JoAnn brought. We took Oney and everyone seemed to enjoy him.
On Thursday we got a late start so we made it in time for dinner, but while the meal was being prepared we took a quick trip over to the Paris Ice Caves. It was so cold that ice stays in them year around. Mike, Johnny & the kids hiked around and made me nervous & I took pictures. Aunt Janetta had some fun crafts, but the tie dyed t-shirts were a hit. Each child's personality came out as they designed their shirts with Sharpie markers and flooded them with rubbing alcohol. We watched Curious George under the stars.
Friday we all headed over to Bear Lake for some boating & Seadoo. The kids had a blast burying each other in the sand. It was a little cold so I think that is where the burying all started. Collin wanted to build a little hole of warm water to set in and before he knew it he was built in.
Casey was hilarious playing king of the island with Jackson & Allen. He spent a lot of time chasing Jake around too.
That night we sat around the camp fire and listened to a life sketch that Uncle Reed & Aunt Nadine put together about Grandma & Grandpa's life & family. It was fun to hear the stories and the sisters pipe in with their perspective.
Saturday was the main event and we had all kinds of games.
There was a bubble gum blowing contest, jump roping, tug-of-war, ball pit, fish pond & sawdust pile. It was the most fun to watch the adults play ALL of the games. I loved watching everyone get involved. The tug of war was pretty funny. Uncle Reed counted everyone off and we tried all different combinations of teams. One time the little kids were winning a very stacked team, when we looked over we saw that Ed had tied their side of the rope to his 4 wheeler & was giving them a little extra help. Then on the rematch the other side used adults so fair is fair... When the adults had their turn they divided up the teams, there were the Hall's against everyone who married a Hall. It was great. The sawdust pile was my favorite. They did all the different age groups and then tried to round up enough for an 18-35 group. At first not a lot got involved, then they held up a $100 bill and people came out of the woodwork. We really scrambled. We fought like crazy. I had to climb over Brett just to get to the sawdust. We were all scrambling for the middle and the $100 was under Jed's knee. It would have been nice, but it was so fun to play.
Blake brought up his big smoker & signature bbq sauces and we had an amazing lunch, smoked chicken, corn on the cob, tomatoes, salads, fruit, brownies, eclaires & those cookies. DELICIOUS!! We had a lot of fun trying to get everyone together for pictures, and as you can tell so did the kids. I must say I am so very grateful for this event. It gave me some time to think back on my memories of my grandparents & the way they have always been so interactive. It was fun to watch my kids play with their little cousins the way I alway got to. On her way out, my Aunt Vurlia gave Jake a box of Chips Ahoy cookies. He took them straight to the trailer with all the little cousins and they ate the entire thing. They called it "stuff the tummy" and they had a blast. I am glad that my grandparents have alway made being together a priority. Thank you to everyone who made this happen just so perfectly perfect!

WOW! That sounds like a lot of fun. A lot of work went into it and it sounds like it was well worth it. I would have dove into that sawdust to get me $100 - DANG! And I loved all the pictures. Especially the one with all the grandkids with your granparents and how they are all wiggly and Jake is dying on the floor. I laughed out loud. Too funny!

I just laughed when I saw how the picture of the great grandkids turned out-with all of them bawling. I loved how Jake was on the ground covering his face. He looked like he was being tortured. It was good to see you guys.
