8 Months

Our tiny baby turned into a baby boy. Last Friday I went in to give him his bottle and thought "He is filling out" He has lost the new baby look. I guess I should be tickled that it lasted as long as it did.

He is jabbering and making so many more sounds. He likes to spit and blow through his pressed lips. He loves licorice and had his first sucker on the way to the beach at the Hall Family Reunion. He is rolling more consistently from his front to his back. Almost every morning I find him on his back babbling for attention. There are rumors that he can roll from his back to his front, but I haven't seen it.

He turned all the way around in his saucer 5 days ago. He is starting to bounce in it. He enjoys being outside and likes excitement. He sat in his bouncer in the lake and kicked and visited. He is really loud sometimes and likes to holler back and forth. 6 ounces doesn't do the trick anymore. He eats 12 if we let him. We add cereal to his bottles and he used the Enfamil AR. That has helped with the spitting. We have tried a few baby foods. He seems to like the applesauce the best. He doesn't like it when food or toys move past the first 1/2 of his tongue. Binkies and licorice are all that really pass the line.

He is getting stronger. Therapy at Grandma Sharon's is the most effective. The kids hate to watch or be a part of it. It breaks their heart. He is almost out of 12 month clothes. The only reason they still fit is because they are shorts. I hope he will be a lot chubbier before he needs to start wearing pants. They are all so wide and short. I can get the best laughs out of him. He plays peek-a-boo. He will even move the burp towel on his own. When he sits in his Bumbo he can stay up longer. When he is in the bouncer seat he tries to sit up straight.

It seems with all the core strengthening his herniated bellybutton is popping out more. His hair looks red in the sunlight but blond in the evening. It is filling in. He is starting to "buck" when I change his diaper and he giggles when he does it. I love that when I put him down to sleep he still pulls his knees up and snuggles in.
