I am head over heels in love with this boy.
Max is 27 3/4" @ 73%
and weighs 15lbs 10oz @ 8%
I took him to Dr Cary Lloyd, the pediatrician, for his 6 month checkup at 7 months. We were behind due to scheduling issues. Dr Lloyd was more concerned with his core strength than they were when we went to early intervention. He had me take Max to have a "swallow test" to make sure he wasn't aspirating. He also made an appointment for Max to be seen by a Neurologist at Primary Children's Hospital. He seemed to be quite concerned.
The swallow study was fun to watch. They gave him some bananas in barium and did a moving x-ray to see what happens when he swallows. His food puddles before flowing down to his stomach. The puddling is due to the poor core strength. He was not aspirating, so it was good news.
The neurologist did a lot of physical tests and asked me a lot of questions, including "Who does he look like?" I thought that was so weird. It wasn't like he had anyone to compare him to. Anyway, he seemed to be more concerned with the tone in Max's wrists and ankles. He was glad that I had brought him in and said that would be helpful at his next appointment when he is one. He said that babies make a lot of progress in the months between 6 & 12. In the second half of the first year babies can go from babbling to talking and rolling to walking. He suggested that we work with the Early Intervention program for the next 6 months. If he doesn't make substantial progress or digresses then he will start testing.
I am not concerned about big issues, but I do feel like Early Intervention will be a great program to help us make progress.
Oh how I love all these kids!!
I just have to note that I was taking Max's 7 month pictures and Gretchen went in the house and put on the white tank top to match Max and then laid on the blanket to have her picture taken with him. Sometimes it is hard when you are not the baby anymore. I had the others be in the picture too.

Love them all too! Great picture. We will continue to pray for Max and his development.
Love it! Thanks for posting. (it would be the best if somehow you could capture the sound of their laugh and save it for a lifetime)
