Today I went to ShopKo to get a baby gift and diapers. I wanted one of the mats that babies lay on and bat at the hanging toys. Max seems to be enjoying his mobile, so I thought it was time. Quite frankly they are cheesy and between 20 & 30 dollars. I exercised self-control, that's right I typed that correctly, and left without one.
I asked Jake if he would build me one. He jumped at the chance and started telling me what he needed. I asked him to go draw me up a plan. He came back with a detailed picture with dimension. He drew each of the parts and had even figured out a way to make it "grow" with Max.
Mike helped Jake collect the parts and the tools and I fed Max a bottle while Jake worked.
I could not be more pleased. I am in love with my sons.

This really is phenomenal. He could be onto something big!
Grandpa thinks maybe he'll be an engineer. I think he might get some orders if anyone sees this blog. That works better than any I have seen. More sturdy and adjustable! Way to go Jake.
