Jake Turnes 10

This year was monumental. The Wirick's were here for Jake's birthday so we had to have a bash. Good thing Aunt Angela has party planning skills, because my pregnancy brain is not much to speak of. We wanted to go camping but is had been a busy weekend and I was not interested in sleeping on the ground. We decided to go up to North Fork and have dinner and party. Sam's birthday was coming so we doubled the party. 

I saw these tatoo mustaches at Zurchers and had to have them.

Mike and Dave took the kids on a little walk while Angela W. posted clues for a treasure hunt.

This treasure box was filled with loot bags for each kid.

Jake didn't want 10 candles. He specifically requested candles in the shape of a 10.

Consequently whether Sam wanted it or not, he got candles in the shape of a 7. He looks okay with it.

Then there was a pinata filled with treats. This guy still makes me sick to look at.

I told Gretchen to get a blindfold. She brougth the lace sleeping mask. I think Adam looks great in it.

The other day, Jake told me his plan for the future. He is going to work for Uncle Dean for a couple of summers, then a life guard, a mission and then a gun smith.

Jake enjoys scouts and just got his Bear.

For Jake's birthday he got several Lego sets. He also got some cool silly string squirt guns. Grandma and Grandpa Ballard took him shopping before they left on their mission. Jake and the Wirick boys made at least 10 forts in the 10 days the Wirick's were visiting. In fact, for the last 20 days (post backdated) there has been a fort in my house in one room or another.

 I love the fort kit because nothing causes me anxiety like a fort. Once Jake cute 2 or 3 of my quilts so he could tie the corners together for a fort. Besides that putting a blanket over a barstool with 3 books and a lamp is not only dangerous, it is expensive.
