Gracie ran her first 5k today. She ran like mad and then stopped to cough (allergies) then she would walk a bit and run again. Her time was 44 min, but we left 3 min after the horn. I think she really enjoyed herself and learned a lot about running. She has taken the first step towards her goal of running the Australian Marathon at 21.
We ran with Addy, Dave and Leslie.
This was a special race for Leslie because she hit her two years in remission mark the day before. This is a huge goal of lymphoma patience. This means she is no longer a "severe" risk for reoccurrence. We ran to support cancer treatments for those who can't afford it. What a wonderful way to celebrate!
