Man Time

While we were in Denver, Jake went with Grandpa Richard to see The Three Stooges, Mike and Ethan were invited too. Jake was dying to see this with Grandpa Richard, Mike was not so sure. After the show he told me that it was pretty funny watching Jake laugh so hard.

Mike and Jake went to Lowe's and bought some wood. Mike let Jake pick out his own paint color, Ozark Trail.
When they got home they made this fancy bird feeder. Jake is trying to pass of a bird watching merit badge... I think, I am not into scouts, but I do think this one is adorable.
Incidentally, those cute green Converse are new.
You could say these are what he got from our Denver trip.
We had actually brought him home a pair of Vibram Toe Shoes, but they were too small (children's'). So we needed to return them to REI in Sandy. When I got home from work, Jake was standing in the hallway with this sign. It is a little light but it says R E I.
When we got there he tried on 3 different styles. He wanted the $120.00 pair (adults, he is too big for the kids sizes). I was a little sick to my stomach. I wanted to make sure he had some room to grow into them so I started doing the mom thing where you ask "can you feel that? Do you have room to grow? Are they too tight?" Anyway when I touched the toes, there were no toes in them. So I started feeling around and his toes were all jammed in there. He said they were comfortable that way and that his toes would not "spread" apart. I wasn't going to pay that kind of money for toe shoes
if we were not even using the toes.
I talked him into going over to the mall. He got 2 pairs of Converse, one low top green and one high top red, for the same price as the kids Vibram. He was happy & so was I.
I am a SUCKER for Converse and this boy!!
