Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day weekend we went camping in Idaho. The Dave Ballard Family joined us. We left Thursday evening and set up camp in the dark. We stayed in the trailer and they stayed in Lawrence's cabin. The first night was a little cold, but the second night we had the sleeping arrangements a little better arranged.

We camped next to this little creek and the kids had a great time
throwing rocks and wading in it.

Friday Lindsey brought the kids & came up to visit.
She brought some paint and stuff to make masks.

After lunch we went up to the lake.
Ethan had a great time on the pontoon boat. I am not sure why he thought he could paddle through these cattails, but we did think it was funny.

Lucas loved "fishing". This pole kept him busy for a long time. I think if he could have taken off that life-jacket he would have been in heaven.

Dave caught the only fish this trip.

That night we went to Dean & Lindsey's for dinner. We had grilled chicken, corn on the cob, rolls & Zingers.

Saturday morning Mike, Dave & Ethan went dog training. We used Lindsey's mask stuff to make casts on some of the kids. Everyone of them made up a story of how they got hurt. They wanted to keep them on for school & show them to their friends. Not one of them lasted a day.
While we made casts & painted them, Mike built a shooting range.
The older kids shot 22s at the targets.
Most of them went back to the lake while Leslie and I took the little boys to Lindsey's to bathe.
That night we roasted hotdogs & made Smores.

Looks like you guys had a good time. Love the masks!! How do you make them? I bet it was nice having Lindsey live so close. Awesome family time!

You guys made casts?!? When can we do that for Craft Day? My kids would absolutely love it.

We might need to invite ourselves on one of these trips. Rachel has still never been fishing, you know. . .
