This year I planned my own birthday party. I thought it might be fun to visit with my sister-friends and have all the cousins get together. My mom offered to host it at her house & I am sure glad she did. Annie came and cleaned mine while I played all day.
We started with lunch. We had grilled hot dogs, because I don't like a lot of clean-up. Aly was so sweet and made me 3 different kind of birthday cupcakes. They were amazing as always. Granny brought my very favorite treat, HER potato salad. And, in true Angela fashion the only beverage was Pepsi (regular & caffeine free)
Everyone had 4 chances to win an AMAZING Angela gift bag, filled with a few of my favorite things: Kool Aid, Haribo Gold Gummy Bears, Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews, Colgate Tooth Paste (the only kind I use), Lotion (because I can't sleep unless I lotion my feet), & Tylenol because I take a lot of pills. Also as an added gift, a magnetic frame with my picture! No wonder everyone participated.
Emilee won that because she brought Mrs Cavanaugh's (just for me), fruit snacks, Haribo Gold Gummy Bears, Haribo Frogs & Gum balls.
(I took this picture before Emilee came, but this is a shot of the treat table)
At the end of the party I sent everyone home with a bag of my favorite treats!
2) There was a costume contest to see who could be the best "Angela". Addy wanted it pretty bad & she was close, but Granny really out did herself! Annie & Jenilyn came and dolled her all up. I have never seen her with her nails painted, but they were & so were her toes. In fact her toes were glittery too!! She had on all kinds of jewelry & some jewel accented sandals just like mine.
Addy went for the "Pre-Mission Angela" and I think she really owned it! She had some bad base lines and a lot of lipstick.
Rio went for the "Angela did my hair" look and it was lovely. When Addy got baptized I french-braided her hair in a heart and laced a ribbon through it.
Granny Sharon went for the "Work" look.
We both have that same sweater, cause she bought me one too!
Emilee came from school, so she brought an embarrassing picture of me. Good one:)
This morning I went to the eye doctor so the kids had a little time to pick out their own costumes. Jake was so funny. He went with a "Painting/Cleaning" representation. I love the jewelry & headband with the trashy clothes. Yep, they are my flip-flops too. He looks so funny and then on the 4-wheeler...
Lindsey also went for the "Work" look & I have to say that is my favorite shirt ever.
She said she would give it to me....
Josie, she just stole that jewelry (but we do have that in common...hugh mom?)
Now Rachel, she really played the part with that wig. She said "This is what your hair looks like to me!" It was funny. All of the Ballard kids came with "I heart Mike" shirts, but Adam's said "I heart Angie". That was my favorite part. I might have got a little teary-eyed when he kissed me. I don't like that he is growing up.
Gretchen wore that dress because it is like my brown one that I love to wear. She was sure she would win with the dress and the same color of hair.
CJ had his "I heart Mike" shirt on too. --Once for our anniversary I made a shirt like this and wore it all day. The next year, Emily found me some white "I heart_______" converse shoes (like the ones in my header on my blog) and now it is my thing--
Kaitlyn wore her princess dress because a long time ago,
I was an attendant for Dairy Princess.
Gracie wore all my favorite looks at once. I love that she added the big flower too.
It was so fun to see what everyones impression of me was.
3) We had a bubble gum blowing contest because at the IRS building they sell Grape Bubblicious and you should always take advantage of a good find like that.
Taylor won that. We didn't get any pictures because Aly was playing too:)
4) We played "Who Knows ME Best"
I had a series of questions that everyone answered and then we went through my answers to see who knew the most about me. Addy did win that one. She got 9 out of 20. There was a lot of debate about my answers, but I thought since they were about me I should be able to say:) ...I may have to re-evaluate what I know about myself....
My mom & Rio made this cute sign.
The Ballard Family gave my (The Mike Ballard) family "TEAM BALLARD" shirts for my birthday. I did get teary when I opened them. I love TEAM BALLARD!
It was the best birthday ever!!

That looks so fun, Hope you had a great Birthday.
Yes, I think you should post the questions and let people play along online. You might earn yourself some more dates.
Oh I like you a lot. Yes. Yes I do. This sounds like a fantastic way to spend a birthday. I really loved all the different versions of Angela that everyone dressed up as. But your grandma is by far my favorite. Just. Plain. Awesome.
