So Gretchen just started giving me some details about her doc. apt.... the pink blanket that is so soft that she can't even tell if it is softer than Bryan's, the bag she got with dolls on it as the print (and talked about everything that was inside), the medicine that she had to sniff that tasted like nasty marshmallows, and then her breakfast that tasted like that because of the gross medicine. And "it was so cool because I got to see my kidney's".
Oh, my heck. I could have listened to her all day. The animation & the expressions involved were darling!!

What? So, what was her problem? That was not my experience at all. At least she doesn't seem to be focusing on the negative.
Then, the nurse calls to check on sissy. They have to do a follow-up call any time a child is sedated. So she calls and asks how she is doing & apologizes over & over for the horrible experience and then says "Next time we will do a full IV sedation"
A) There will NOT be a next time!
B) What? Why the !@#$%^&* didn't we do that the first time?
C) Did you know it was $523.00 & we have good insurance. Would have been nice to have completed this time.
I didn't say all that, but I was so blown away.
Good news, they called and said her kidneys are not damaged, but we are still waiting on the results from the incomplete test...
4/26-She is clear. No more tests!

I'm glad her kidneys are okay. I'm sorry, That's got to be so frustrating.
i am so sorry you had to go through this experience. it sounds like she is not permanently tramatized by it all. i am glad that her kidneys are okay, but i hope they can find a reason for all of her complications. good luck.
I am so very very sorry she has to go through all of this (and you too). I always say that if hospitals were a "real" business they wouldn't be in business. No one would put up with the poor customer service and disregard for charging people when the service isn't completed. It drives me nuts because if we charged someone for legal work and then didn't do it right or didn't finish it we would get sued, but somehow in medicine it's totally fine to do that. Okay, that's my rant!! Hang in there!
