Love It

I was sitting in the living room. I sent Jake downstairs with a few Legos to put away. When he came back up he stood right by the couch and did a front flip up over the arm and onto the couch. I told him that it was amazing & asked him to do it again (really, I was not sure it was what I thought I saw). He did it again! I was so impressed I complimented him another time. This was his reply:

"Yeah, that's why I'm thinkin' about tryin' out for athlete in high school."
-Remember, he is into "sport" now.

This weekend is Spring Break. Gretchen was pretty sick the first two days & then Jake ended up with a fever too. Anyway, they were moaning (I AM NOT KIDDING) all day long. I was listening to them converse. Gretchen was asking Jake to do things for her and he would not. He kept saying that he was sick of helping sick people (this was before he got sick, karma.) Anyway, he really wanted chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. She really wanted him to start her show. He kept asking me to make him the pancakes & I have to admit, I was bothered that he wanted me to make nasty pancakes & he wouldn't even help the girl with a fever (she is always "sick" but she never has proof) They bickered about it for a few minutes. Then she yelled with exasperation "Jake, let me just handle the chocolate chip pancakes, you just push the button while I talk mom into it!"

I made the pancakes, she got to watch her show & he pushed the button.

Go Team Ballard! Who knew your children could work you so well.

I would love to see the tricks of the Great Jake Ballard. Keep Practicing!

Jack has just started this flipping thing too. He keeps using my bed as a trampoline. Good to know that Jake is working on his athlete and sport.
