Writing Notes

Gracie made this for her teacher. She asked me if she should give it to her. I glanced over and said, no. Later when the kids were in bed, I really looked at it. Yes, yes she should give it to her teacher. It was darling.

Saturday at our family Christmas party we played a white elephant game. Jake got a 12 pack of Mountain Dew. After inspecting what others got, he was quite confident that he had picked a winner. Watching everyone trade must have made him feel a little left out. He asked my brother Casey if he could have the 2 little kid books that Casey had gotten. He pleaded his case by explaining to Casey that he had no use for the books and that he would take him off his hands. Quickly without Casey's full consent Jake snatched the books and ran off to negotiate another 12 pack. He has been a bit protective of his soda. He shares with me, but doesn't really like it when Mike takes one. So here is the note he wrote himself. He asked me how to spell this, but the rest he did himself. He even went to get his word cards to write the rest of the words
(that means he has really memorized the sight words!!)
I was so proud.

Hey thanks for trading us for that fish puzzle. Dustin hasn't stopped playing it since he got it.
