Boy Time

Today the girls just wouldn't play Jake's way. Taylor didn't want to ride horses & Jake was just feeling a little down. Grandpa Bruce took him in the cowboy room to hang out.Grandpa put in "Rustlers Rhapsody" and got out the m&ms. Things were lookin' up. Jake said, "Grandpa, what do you think about some licorice?" Gramps replied, "I don't think grandma has any licorice." Jake sat there a second and headed over to grandpa's drawer, where he keeps the candy. Grandpa "I don't think there is any licorice." Jake, "Cinnamon bears, that's what I'm lookin for" & he found them.
The other day, we were out at my parents, Jake was talking about being something else, not a cowboy. Anyway, he was going on & on. Then Grandpa Bruce came in & I said, "Hey Jake tell grandpa what you told us, about not being a cowboy anymore." He kinda looked caught & quickly retracted his statement with a silly, "I was just kidding, I'm still going to be a cowboy."
I love the way Jake acts when he is around my dad. He talks all gruff & visits like he knows what he is talking about. He really likes to watch cowboy movies & read Western Horseman with Grandpa Bruce
